Driving License Rules in Spain

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

1) A driving license issued in Member States of the European Union or in Norway, Iceland or Lichtenstein:

  • You have the right to drive with your national driving license in Spain (car or scooter).

2) A driving license issued in the following non-EU countries: Algeria, Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Japan, Macedonia, Morocco, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Serbia, South Korea, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay and Venezuela :

  • You have the right to drive with your national driving license in Spain (car or scooter).

3) A driving License issued in a non-EU country not listed above, but written in Spanish

  • You have the right to drive with your national driving license in Spain (car or scooter).
 

4) A driving License issued in a non-EU country and NOT written in Spanish

  • We recommend to get your national driving license translated by an official translator into Spanish. You can do that in your own country or directly in Spain. (see below)
  • Sign a waiver when you come to take the tour.
  • With an official translation of your national driving license you have the right to drive in Spain (car or scooter).

5) A valid International Driving License

  • You have the right to drive with your International driving license in Spain (car or scooter).

HOW CAN I GET MY DRIVING LICENSE TRANSLATED?

 

You can do this with any Spanish translator who is qualified to translate and stamp official documents from other countries.

   We can provide this service for you. It will take about 1 hour and the cost is 15.00€ payable in advance. We will call you a soon as your license is ready for collection.

 

Please note this service is only available MONDAY to FRIDAY between 09.00-14.30
