Barcelona Tennis
In Barcelona tennis and the fast moving mini version padel are very popular. There are a mix of private and public courts across the city. The majority of the tennis courts are clay. The padel courts are either hard court or carpet. Expect to pay between 10€ and 30€ for a court, depending on the time and the day.
The main tennis event in the city is the historic Trofeo Conde de Godó. This is oldest tennis tournament in Spain and is an ATP 500 ranking event. It was first played in 1953 and the Real Club Tenis Barcelona has always been the host club.
This club was formed at the same time as its neighbour FC Barcelona, by the international community that settled in the city after the 1988 International Expo.
Many of the stars of world tennis have played here including, Bjorn Borg, Ilie Nastase, Ivan Lendl and of course many of the most famous Spanish players. Rafa Nadal is the current champion.
REAL CLUB TENNIS BARCELONA
ATP BANCO SABADELL OPEN
The tournament is part of the ATP Mens Tour. It attracts some of the biggest names in the game, including Rafa Nadal and Kei Nishikori. The Real Club Tenis Barcelona is the host club.
ITF WOMENS WORLD WINNER
This is a new ITF tournament for women. It features some of the up and coming stars on the circuit from across the world. The Club Esportiu Hispano Frances is the host club
