The ‘Museu Blau’ is Barcelona’s natural sciences museum, based in the Diagonal Mar area of the city, right next to the Forum.
It has one main exhibition called ‘Life Planet’ which looks at the planet’s physical and chemical environments and their relationship with humans. It is divided into two main sections, ‘Biography of the Earth‘ and ‘Earth Today‘. The former looks at the development of life and the interaction with the planet and the latter descibes the present situation and the possible future.
There are always a couple of temporary exhibitions to see aswell. For the Summer 2016 there are ‘Totems‘ – photographs by Guillem Vidal and ‘Spinosaurus‘ – the lost giant of the Cretaceous Period.
Museu Blau is right next to the massive Diagonal Mar shopping centre and the Forum beach. It is free for kids, so a great way to combine something educational with some fun and shopping with out having to haul the children across the city.
