Opened in 1995 the aquarium in Port Vell was an instant hit. Moreover, it currently has 35 aquariums at the facility are home to 11,000 animals representing 451 species. Thats a lot!

In total the tanks hold a total of 5,000,000 litres of water.

This includes an ocean tank for sharks, rays and other large fish, which is 36m (118 ft) in diameter, 5m (16 ft) deep, and contains the undeniably cool 80-metre (260 ft) underwater shark tunnel!
