Barcelona Tour Highlights

La
Caseta

Google Visitor Rating
3.8/5
If you are looking for high class dining, then this not the spot! The only stars here are in the sky at night.

But what a spot to eat. Great views out over Barcelona, a friendly atmosphere and often live music.

This ‘secret’ little eaterie is popular with locals and visitors alike.

origins

La Caseta can be found in the Mirador del Migdia park. It was created in 1992 and is a large forested area located on the southern slope of the Montjuïc mountain.

Nestled between Montjuïc Castle and the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, next to the Sudoeste Cemetery and the Fossar de la Pedrera, and includes the Sot del Migdia area, an old quarry converted into a space for concerts and sporting events.

There is a lovely walk through the so-called Consuls’ Trees. They were planted in 1999, a set of 45 representative trees from different countries, planted by 45 consuls accredited in Barcelona

the little house

La Caseta means ‘little house’ and gets its name from a Telefonica tower that became disused and abandoned. About 15 years ago, Marc, a local entrepreneur, negotiated with the City Council to obtain a temporary license to use the house and the park space around it open a small bar and terrace.

just the weekends

During the off season the bar is open weekends and holidays from midday until 6pm, with a limited menu and live music.
