BARCELONA GUIDE

Find your Next Adventure

Barcelona’s big advantage over other European cities is it is small and compact. For local people, this means everyone living on top of each other. For the visitor, it means you have an opportunity to see most of the city, in a short period of time.

In just one day; by bus, metro or GoCar (shameless plug), you can see the views from Tibidabo. Then enjoy the open parklands on Montjuic and relax on one of the Mediterranean beaches.

To help you plan your visit we have made a little online guide book. Included are the biggies. But we have also highlighted a few of Barcelona’s lesser known gems too.

antoni gAUdi

After Lionel Messi, Antoni Gaudi is probably the most famous name associated with the Catalan captial. Not really appreciated in his own time, Gaudi’s unique style is now synomynous with the city. We have chosen a few of our favourites for you to look at.

BARCELONA MUSEUMS

From your classic science museum (Cosmo Caixa) to the bizarre (Mammouth Museum). Barcelona has a pretty mixed bag of places to see ‘stuff’! We have picked out six that we really enjoyed. Well worth the ticket, if museums are your thing.

BARCELONA OPEN SPACES

We are very fortunate to have both the beach and the mountains bordering the city, so you are never to far away from somewhere to escape the grid of the Exiample or the narrow streets of the Bario Gotico. But apart from the obvious, there are some great other open spaces to chill-out in and discover.

THE ART OF BARCELONA

With some pretty tough competition from Paris, Rome and London, the Barcelona art scene has really only come to the fore in the last hundred years or so. True, M.N.A.C houses the best collection of Romanesque art in the world, but elswhere in the city the surrealism of Miro, Dali and Tapies, the blue period of Picasso and a cool contemporary vibe are at the heart of what the city has to offer the art lover.

CITY OF SPORT

Apart from the world famous FC Barcelona and the 1992 Olympic Games, the Catalan capital hosts all kinds international, national and local sporting events. There is also a impressive array of sporting facilities scattered across the city, from tennis courts to skateboard parks, ice-rinks to swimming pools. If you want to watch, join in or compete, the choice of activities and events is endless.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

If you have been to the city before we have a few ideas to do something different. Some are a bit more off the normal tourist routes, but well worth the effort.

SPECIAL OFFERS

We work with local partners to bring you special deals. Some offer discounts and others make visiting a lot easier by skipping queues. When we get offers, we will highlight them here. CLick on the offer to see the details . .
